I have often wondered why so many people choose not to utilize a real estate agent when buying a new home from a builder. I only had to think back to when my wife and I were looking for a new home before I was a licensed agent.
First of all, I didn’t really even think about using a Realtor. It also seemed convenient to be able to just drive to the new home communities on our schedule and not worry about coordinating with someone else. Lately, the majority of my clients have come from outside of Arizona looking for either investment properties for rental purposes or second homes to enjoy during the winter months. The rental market in Phoenix has to be one of the most under reported upsides to the Phoenix housing market and that is good news for those with the ability to purchase homes in order to rent them out. It came to my attention last week that Beazer homes is trying their hand at the investment real estate market in Phoenix. My initial reaction was “what are they thinking?”. After reading about what they are doing, it all started to make sense.
